A few kilometers away, the Sun Island with its Inca terraces and stairways, transports you to a world of ancestral myths and legends. And in Santa Cruz, explore the Fort of Samaipata, its immense rock carved with ritual figures and ceremonial structures reveals the cultural fusion between the Incas and peoples of Amazonian origin.

In Cuenca, discover Pumapungo, an important archaeological site where you can find agricultural terraces, canals and vestiges of Inca warehouses in the heart of the city. And in Pichincha, visit Cochasquí, an archaeological site that holds the secrets of the Quitu-Cara people and their connection with the cosmos in an important ceremonial and astronomical center.

In Peru, visit Kuélap in Amazonas and tour this impressive fortified citadel built on top of a mountain, where the stone walls speak of the architectural dominance of the Chachapoya.
