By Air
Access the Volcanoes Road through the Mariscal Sucre International Airport, located in the city of Quito, the main air gateway to the Andean center of Ecuador. This airport, with daily domestic and international flights, is the closest to the provinces of Cotopaxi, Tungurahua and Chimborazo. Once you land, the tour continues by land, exploring the fascinating attractions of this trail.
Overland
This road has land connectivity through the Troncal de la Sierra E-35, part of the Pan-American Highway in Ecuador. This main road crosses the provinces of Cotopaxi, Tungurahua and Chimborazo, allowing you to enjoy their tourist destinations.

The tour starts in the city of Latacunga, the capital of the province of Cotopaxi, By private vehicle you can take the E-35 road or also called Panamerican Highway. You can also take a bus from la Land Terminal of Latacunga to the city of Ambato, capital of the province of Tungurahua. The route offers views of inter-Andean valleys, crops and nearby volcanoes.

In Latacunga let yourself be surprised by: 
  •     ● Historic center with colonial churches such as La Merced, San Francisco and the Cathedral, as well as the Municipal Palace and the emblematic Casa de los Marqueses de Miraflores. 
  •     ● Museums such as the Museo del Obraje in Latacunga, which preserves tools, processes and traditions of colonial panzaleo textiles, and the Simón Bolívar library offer a glimpse into the region's cultural past. 
  •     ● Molinos de Monserrat, a former Jesuit mill dating back to 1736, is today a cultural center with museums, a library and art, music and theater workshops that showcase the productive and creative legacy of Cotopaxi. 
  •     ● Hacienda Tilipulo, from the 16th century, preserves a mestizo baroque chapel, old colonial walls, Andean gardens and original structures that reveal its agricultural and religious past under Jesuit administration. 
  •     ● Cotopaxi National Park is home to the Cotopaxi volcano, one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. It offers trails through moorlands, glacial lakes and Andean forests, with routes for hiking, biking and bird watching. 
  •     ● Limpiopungo Lagoon, at the foot of the Cotopaxi volcano, is ideal for ecological hikes, Andean bird watching, mountain biking and high-altitude landscape photography. 
  •     ● Quilotoa Lagoon, in zone III of the Los Illinizas Ecological Reserve, located in the crater of a volcano, dazzles with its emerald green waters and allows hiking along the edge of the crater, descending to the lagoon and kayaking.
